When I Grow Up

17: What do you want to be when you get older? Why did you choose it?

I want to be a father of a large family.  I think raising kids well is something I would find challenging, take pride in, and love.  And going back to ‘love’, I mean that in the unconditional sense, the way that all parents should love raising their children.

I want to be an entrepreneur.  I don’t necessarily care about the money, but that would be nice.  I want to make an impact on the world, to challenge myself, to live freely, to do something that I’m passionate about, and many other reasons.

After I’ve had a good run of entrepreneurship, then I don’t think I’d mind being an angel investor and pursuing some other art or hobby passionately.  (I had no idea what an angel investor was until someone told me and I looked more into it, but an angel investor is someone who independently invests money and guidance into business start ups.  They usually during the early stages of the business when funding is more critical, but venture capitalist firms won’t invest/banks won’t loan to the business because they don’t have proof that their business will succeed.)  I also don’t think I’d mind teaching.

I project that my financial future will be very successful and something that my kids won’t have to worry about, whether it be through work, entrepreneurship, investing, or some combination.  I definitely don’t think it’ll just pop out of thin air, but I see it happening.
