Optimist

20: Would you consider yourself an optimist or a realist? Why?

The person who made this question must be a realist.. haha.  I think the question kind of implies that reality is bad, and if you are an “optimist”, then you choose not to acknowledge “reality” for all its badness.  I think people with pessimistic tendencies would probably call themselves realists.

But yeah, I would say I’m an optimist.  I have a pretty bright image of what my future is going to look like.  I generally think that all people are good at the core.  I try to think that things will turn out for the better.  And even if what I’m hoping for doesn’t turn out how I want, then I have hope that the following events will turn out better.  I don’t really stress out or worry too often.

One of the places where this tendency hurts me is planning, because I usually think that a series of interrelated events will each go well, when “in reality” they don’t.
