Food for Thought

In partaking in the 3-year 405 freeway widening project, which is presumed to indirectly save millions of dollars locked up in time spent in traffic, how much money do they force consumers to waste on extra miles spent driving through nightly detours? Although I am a little annoyed every time I have to take detours (one time I drove like 10 miles out of the way), I’m not saying that indirect cost outweighs any of the benefits. Just genuinely wondering.
